Does anyone care for them??????????????

SOME PEOPLE adore them. Some abhor them. Yes! They are the street children. Think about them who don’t even get their daily bread; who don’t have proper shelter? Does anyone care for them? Street children in India, many of them drug-addicts have been facing a bleak future.

An estimated thousands of street children live in India. Every day, they scavenge across the city for a better life, showing courage and resilience that would put most adults to shame.

The term ’street children’ refer to children for whom the street, more than their family has become their real home. It includes children who may not necessarily be homeless or without families, but who live in situations where there is no protection, supervision, or direction from responsible adults.

The reality of the street children is the naked and vicious face of poverty and exploitation. The tragedy is that those who bear it, are themselves innocent, lonely and frightened young children. Many of them who have run away from their homes because either they were beaten or s*xually abused. Tragically, their homelessness leads to their further abuse through exploitative child labour and prostitution.

Most Indian street children work. Children who work, are not only subject to the strains and hazards of their labour, but are also denied the education or training that could enable them to escape the poverty trap.

Poor health is a chronic problem for them. Half of all children in India are malnourished, but for street children, the proportion is much higher. These children are not only underweight, but their growth has often been stunted.

Every day, I come across such homeless kids begging, some near a ticket-counter, some near a food store, some at traffic signals, selling flowers or books.

India that gives place to each and everyone, doesn’t have place for them.

Their plight is getting worse day by day.

Together, we can do something for them.

A small deed can get millions of smiles.

Therefore, people should wake up now. Give these sweet and innocent children, a better life to live and show them a proper path towards a bright future. What say??????

I think being citizen of india, it is our responsibility to make it a better nation and everything should not be left for the government...

But do we ever realise why these beggers ask for money or food all the time...

well for their situation somewhere we all are responsible because we encourage them to begg around by giving them food or money...helping somebody is a good deed but making somebody habitual for asking for help all the time is somehow a crime...

by giving them easy money or food..we discourage them to take a step forward and earn something for their family and for themselves....

giving money and food is not the only solution to poverty in our country but making them earn their food on their own is our resposibility....

for this, people from different different societies, NPO's, Charitable trust can come forward and arrange for various programs which make these people aware of the employement opportunites available in india and help them to come forward in our society NOT BY GIVING MONEY TO THEM but PROVIDING BETTER GUIDANCE AND MORAL SUPPORT so that poor people and beggers can also find their place in our society and contribute in building up a better nation......

So lets join hands and take an initiative here to eradicate the problem of poverty in India...a joint help by all the citizens of india can only prove good to this problem...

very nice message jesica

Its really Ironical when we talk about How our Nation is becoming “Super Rich” or “Super Power”& still cant do anything for the poor kids who even strive for “Food” & “Shelter”.!!

Together we can definitely make a difference in their lives.:)

Giving Generously a Part of our Wealth…& feeling Happy about it…can make wonders…

Thanks Jesica for taking up this issue.

Very true situation of india ,.............................due to politics and scams etc............................

I WOULD NOT APPERICIATE THAT

YOU ARE TAKING UP THIS ISSUE AND WE ALL SHOULD JOIN HANDS , OR

ITS THE DUTY OF GOVT OR NGO OR

WE ARE CITIZENS OF INDIA ITS OUR DUTY, OR

ITS BECAUSE OF SCAMS OR

SIMPLY APPERICIATE YOUR MSG.... VERY NICE ....KEEP IT UP .... AND ALL LOT OF RUBBISH....

ITS NOT A MATTER ONLY TO BE WRITTEN AND TELL PEOPLE TO WAKE UP...

NOT MY THOUGHTS OR ANYBODY ESLE'S GONNA CHANGE THE STATE OF OUR NATION...

NOR BY DONATING MONEY TO THEM, BE USED IN THEIR UPLIFTMENT.....

I HAD HEARD MANY INSTANCES WHEN THESE POOR PEOPLE DRINK ALCOHAL AND TAKE DRUGS AND OTHER STUFF EVEN WHEN THEY ARE  NOT HAVING MONEY ENOUGH TO FEED THEIR CHILDREN.....

ONE DAY A CHILD CAME TO ME AND SAID THAT HE WANTED MONEY TO EAT I TOLD HIM THAT I WOULD TAKE HIM TO A NEARBY RESTAURANT AND FEED HIM TILL HIS STOMACH IS FULL....

BUT HE SAID THAT HE ONLY WANTED THE MONEY.....

AND HE RAN FROM THERE WHEN I INSISTED ON HELPING HIM...

SO ITS NOT THAT THAT WE CANNOT DO SOMETHING BUT ULTIMATE DUTY IS OF THE GOVT TO ERADICATE POVERTY

AND IT COULD BE DONE BY FIRST OF ALL CHANGING THEIR MINDSET...

THEIR THOUGHTS WOULD HAVE TO BE CHANGED FIRST BY PROVIDING THEM EDUCATION AND GIVING WORK TO UNEMPLOYED  ADULTS MEMBERS....

AFTER ALL AN EMPTY MIND IS A DEVIL'S WORKSHOP.....

A BEGGAR CAME FOR ANSKING MONEY FROM ONE OF MY RELATIVES AND WHEN HE OPENED THE WINDOW OF HIS CAR THE BEGGAR ROBBED HIM BY SHOWING A GUN TO HIM.....

AND  THE BEGGAR FLED WITH THE CAR......

I DONT SAY THAT ALL POOR PEOPLE ARE LIKE THIS BUT NEED OF MONEY AND UNEMPLOYMENT MADE THEM TO ADOPT UNFAIR MEANS....

SO IF YOU WANT TO REALLY HELP ANY PERSON DONT GIVE THEM MONEY JUST HELP HIM TO GET EDUCATION.....

IF THEY ARE EDUCATED THEN ONLY POVERTY CAN BE ERADICATED IN REAL TERMS.......

SO EACH ONE TEACH ONE !!

HOPING FOR A BETTER HINDUSTAN.......
