Documents for service tax registration st-1

Queries 6393 views 9 replies

I have registered for service tax using ST-1 at aces website. Now I have to submit physical documents. Which includes:

(a) copy of PAN,
(b) Proof of residence,
(c) Constitution of applicant at the time of filing an application for registration,
and
(d)Power of attorney would be required in respect of authorized person(s).

I understood only (a), (b). I have 3 queries:-

1. What are the documents that are accepted as Address Proof?

2. What is constitution of applicant? Is it MoU?

3. Who will give power of attorney to whom? I am one of the two directors of the company.

Thanks & Regards

- a trade licence in name of company with address

2. What is constitution of applicant? Is it MoU?

- articles and memorandam copy is needed for company

3. Who will give power of attorney to whom? I am one of the two directors of the company.

- a board resolution will be enough to authorize one of the director of company to sign the documents, in absence, the non signatory directors will give POA to signatory.

Thanks & Regards

agreed with us sharma

Thanks For Sharing.......................

ya.. u s sharma is correct.

however, for the address proof, you may also attach the Utility bills in the name of company, any other registration, e.g in commercial department for VAT is also acceptable.

besides this, you also have to put the address proof for the residence of the signing director. a copy of resolution for the authority to any one director is necessary for :

(i) signing the form, also the further correspondences and documents regarding service tax

(ii) also there would be a resolution about the authority to apply for service tax registration, as well as ammendments in the articles if they are not having such type of clause already.

Thank u Sir

What is Constitution of Applicant at the time of filing an application for Service Tax Registration?

constitution = the status of applicant signing the ST-1, (proprietor/partner/ director/power of attorney)

Apart from these documents, we may need to submit a request letter mentioning the details of service and also the ward no of applicant
