Quick Summary
This discussion clarifies whether a Balance Sheet and Profit & Loss statement are necessary for filing your Income Tax Return (ITR). Generally, these documents are only required if a tax audit is applicable, particularly under Section 44AB of the Income Tax Act. For companies, these statements are always mandatory. If you are not eligible for a tax audit, these documents are typically not needed.

IF tax audit is applicable then required.
Not required if you are not eligible for tax audit
If tax audit is applicable than required and for company its always required
In my opinion if you fall under the provisions of 44AB and you have not gone for 44AD in p.y. then it is reqd.
