Job toh mil jayegi but most of the times CAs are underemployed. I have seen a fresh CA who is llb,mcom and well versed in income tax,service tax,vat and audit getting only 2lacs pa in a metro;mind u he was not a dummy and rather he did articleship for 6 years.The problem was he cleared in 3 attempts his final. Another CA from the same firm is having mcom qualification; also cleared in his 3rd attempt(because of his CA , a powerful icai member who didn't give proper holidays); wasted his 2 attepts; and in 3rd attempt got 60+ in 3 papers of group 2.He was academically very sound and a of similar experience as article. He had to waste 1 year before getting a job of 4lacs pa at a pharma-giant. What i mean is that "just being a CA doesn't get u a proper paying job" easily. ICAI only brags about how easily CAs land in jobs. Many people in CAclubindia also have said about this.When they have vacancy for 10 people; they allow in 1000 aspirants even when they know that the recruiters have asked for first time passers or rankers; and mint easy money from aspiring CAs

And if a fresher goes for practise straight away; he will be able to start succesfully only if a)he has a family based firm or bulk of his relatives and friends are businessmen. If one he will just register a firm in his name; and do odd jobs under other CAs; and sign audit report of firms audited by those CAs or accountants for paltry fee. In many cases; CAs offer their passing student EXPLOITING PARTNERSHIP OFFER like ,"for my clients i will give u 10pc commission; and for ur clients u give me 30pc commission;i will give 1 LAC PER YEAR EXTRA; and u will work here as before(ie article) and see after my entire work at office.

Now tell me; if CAs are that job worthy. As per me; the training system of icai is itself faulty. Trim down articleship under a practisioner (esp medium firm wale); increase seats for industrial trainings and make facilties to avail them. Just filing old sadahuaa papers; filing income tax returns of proprietors of kiranaa shops; sari shopowners;fruit-sellers;small share dealer doesn't prepare us for challenges of corporate world. All the students don't have the opportunity of getting into big office with multiple exposure like SAP,ERP,forensic acounting,etc. Most of us are rotting like tomatoes in firms where CA sleeps most of the time; is a couch potato;he shouts at us to vent his anger of his wife,son who has flunk his school exams; or client who has gone to another CA or hasn't paid his bill.

Answer, me oh supporters of Uttam Aggrawal.if there is no use of such articleship; why is it 3.5 years. make it to 1.5 years-2 years. and make industrial training of 1 year optional (compulsory if students does 1.5 years of articleship under a practisioner)

jose i must say that you have articulated the thoughts of thousands of ca students, who are dissatisfied with their articleship for one reason or the other.

there is one more thing that i would like to ask the supporters of Uttam Prakash Aggarwal regarding the new announcement of the so-called 'practical oriented papers'. What has Mr. President done to ensure that students get good practical exposure?? Unfortunate ones like me ended up doing some silly work which will not help in anyway in passing your exams. So what is the point of making this announcement unless you can make sure that students get the required practical exposure??
