Hey friends, Good day and Happy festive season

Diwali is biggest festival of not only Hindus but whole India. On this day, lord Rama returned to Ayodhya after killing evil Raavan. Citizens of Ayodhya decorated whole city and lighted candles. But now it only matters to us firing crackers. We should wear new cloths, worship gods, decorate houses and honor elders. Should we fire crackers????????

 Disadvantages of burning crackers-:

  • Noise pollution
  • Air pollution
  • Wastage of money
  • Problem to asthma patients
  • Accidents occur like fire in house, eye lost etc.
  • Dirty streets

Instead of firing crackers, purchase new cloths, sweets, fruits. If possible help poor and feed voiceless birds and animals

So Please, promise this Diwali you will not fire crackers

I didn’t fire crackers for last 5 Diwali festivals. Will you?

I fully agree with CA DEEPAK KUMAR SHARMA. I have a very bad experience. My sun burnt his right had palm  while bursting cracked in the ear 1987. Subsequently he has to undergo plastick surgery and his palm never came back to normal look. Even at the time of his marriage I had a tough timew convincing the girl's father and others. However he ius married and resides in Atlanta. In any case I can not forget the trouble and other losses I suffered during those days., There after I stopped buying tye crackeres off course for many reasons.

Thanks Deepak, for raising a concern on this important matter.

Many people may argue that Diwali, being a festival of light, is incomplete without firing crackers.

But, we should also keep following points in mind before we lit the fire-crackers :

  1. Every Diwali, several human lives are lost / injured across the country (esp. in Sivakasi, the hub of fire crackers)

  1. Toxic chemicals from the crackers causes Air, Sound, Water and Earth Pollution.

  1. Unnecessary money spent on crackers can feed poor people for months, can educate a poor child for a year/s.

Considering the above points, is it necessary to burst fire-crackers ?

Agreed that Diwali is a festival of light but we can also lit lamps and lanterns to make our homes look bright.

It is seen that due to awareness about this issue and inflation, less number of people burst crackers during Diwali. After an awareness campaign in my school, I abstained from bursting crackers and instead started buying books and donated money. I hope more and more people will become aware of this issue.

Thanks for sharing your experience. Sorry for the bad experience. The motive of this post is making members aware about this issue. I hope some people will be inspired and will not fire crackers.

Let me correct you that i am not a CA yet so it is improper to prefix CA before my name. Even after qualify, I don't think that i will use this prefix."Let your work speak not your post or qualification."

Truly said Deepak ji and Veeral ji...since last 8 years i myself have not fired any crackers as the same is prohibited in our religion.

When we purchase crackers, it not only spoils money and environment but it mess up the life of labourers involved in making process. They work under hazardous conditions.

Promise that you will not fire crackers this diwali and will aware your friends, neighbours and relatives.

Have a happy and prosperous Diwali
