You can dissolve the firm by entering into a dissolution agreement amongst all the partners. However since the firm was live till31/7/15, you can surrender the PAN only after filing the income tax return of AY 16-17. However, you can intimate the ITO that you have stopped business as on31/7/15, but that is not mandatory
