tanuja paduka is the best book for sm

so dnt worry just keep practising

i just read 5 chapters from paduka in sm

and secured 59 keeping the fact that i had attended only 35 marks questions in IT

SO u are on the right path

i must advise u one thing that dont worry for casestudies

take them as unseen passeges which we used to solve in cbse boards

just learn all the 6 chapters from paduka and surely u will come with flying colors

and in nov 08 i have cleared ca pcc

Dear friend Ravi, the topic here is not for PCC only, it is for both pcc and finals. Since a case of a pcc student (aaditya) came in front of us thats why, i added my explanation in relation to that. And thax for ur guidance to pcc students.

Hey tanuja , whtever Ravi said is absoletuly true and corrert but i can say u just in simple words dont go for the quantity go for the quality,...

and studying is imp but more than it i can say the presentation is much more imp, better presentation will fetch u more marks than better words, and also try to increase ur speed by solving not many but few questions as not much time remains from each practical topics, this will surely help u on the exam day.

and for Cost FM and tax i should say that dont take the theory part of the subject lightly , because its only the theory part preparation which at the end makes the difference between ur passin or not.

hey karan ....

it was my pleasure to share my views

dnt say thnx yaar

thanks to ravi and sourabh....

Here i am posting the RANKER's TALK CA FINAL(originally posted at our site) for the help of all at exam time: =========================================================== Below is the detailed recommendation from Annapurna Srikanth who bagged 3rd rank in May 2008 CA FINAL exams Hi, This is Annapurna Srikanth. First of all thank you for your hearty wishes. The strategy I adopted-------- Start early.......... Plan properly.......... Execute your plan........... Self reporting on daily basis{ actual vs. plan}.......... Self testing and correction..............., ************************************* I planned and started early so that I had atleast two years at my disposal so that I can do justice to my preparations inspite of managing my office and family commitments. it took around six months to go through all eight subjects. To start with I referred study materials. Then in the second round I went for deeper preparations. There where my meticulous planning and study helped me to reach this height without attending coaching classes. I used the reference books[ as mentioned below ] for clear understanding of the concepts, worked out each problem myself and then compared with the answers.let me exemplify this. If I started a chapter I obtained a clear understanding using study materials and reference books. Then I worked out each and every problem in the scanner Think of the alternative possibilities to arrive at the given answer and at the end compare with the one given in compilations. This process made me learn so many things. At the end of the day I was reporting to myself to check where I stood . I thought the number of pages I covered each day would made me accountable to check my actual vs. planned target. Actually I didn’t prepare any notes but converted the material itself into notes by blocking few keywords in each paragraph. so by the end of third round of preparations those keywords got imprinted in my mind and it became easy to refer during the previous day of exams where we strive for each minute of time. There are 3 things in preparing for exams ********** • Hard work in the right manner • Recollecting • Presentation ************************************* During last four months I went into intensive preparation each day handling all eight subjects. The last month was a quick review subject wise after which I wrote 2 papers in each subject in simulated examination conditions. This gave me complete confidence and taught me lot many things with regard to time management, the expected pattern of the answers and presentation aspects. This was the strategy I adopted. If you ask me how was all this possible I would say there is no short cut to success. i realized “ hard work has no substitute”. Wish you all the very best. ============================== Reference books • Accounts----M.P.VijayKumar[ for both standards as well as other problems] • MAFA-----Pattabhiram • Auditing----study materials only[also recent amendments] • CLSP------study materials • Costing-----study materials and saravana prasath • MICS------study materials only • Direct Taxes-------T.N.Manoharan only • Indirect taxes------Study materials and Vaitheeswaran • Others-----scanner,compilations,recent caselaws, recent amendments, suggested answers,RTPs.[went through atleast 3 times] ========================================= Regards, Karan.

i did not read them for any subject as it is very dificult to study from them and then to retain
for u my advise would b like
accounts : u must have taken clases for it so just do wat ur teacher hav taught u and then if time permits u buy compilor from the institute and do questions from it (most of the questions will be similar to what ur teacher has taught u )
in case u have not taken clases take any self study book like R.L Gupta , P C Tulsian etc ( 45 days not enough if u have not taken clases before)
Audit : if u have not taken clases then select a book and start learning. i will advise u not to study from surbhi bansal mam's book as it is not sure that u will pass then.( instead learn tapan jindal, vinod agarwal or padhuka )
i have learned from the surbhi bansal mam book and was sure to score more than 70 but actual marks were 46
LAW : I  have not find any book better than munish bhandari so if u have not taken clases study from this book only .
it is the most interesting theory subject and it is easy to score in law as compared to audit.
COST AND FM : Most dificult subject. u must have taken clases for this subject so follow their notes only . if time permits u then buy compilor from the institute and do questions from it (most of the questions will be similar to what ur teacher has taught u )
hey regarding cost and fm i shoud advise u to keep ur focus equally on theory too as theory weighs more than 39 marks out of 100 . and it is easier to score in theory part.
income tax service tax and vat :  most interesing subject of all and most important for ur training .U must have taken clases for this subject just folow his  notes .
prepare a strategy to write the exam .
always do service tax and vat portion first as it is very easy . then go for last question of income tax which is whole theory question. it is also very easy to answer.
and then attempt the 20 marks total income question .
IT AND SM : HA HA!!! I  can only advise u how to read this subject but u knw wat is the main problem with this subject???
it is the retention of text ...
dont go for any book other then module or paduka publication
u will end up getting very less marks if u study from any other book ( for example dinesh madaan sir's notes, vikas kappr's sir notes ,SM - ngpa publication , nitesh kumar's book, rathore sir's notes)
hey tanuja all these are mine own views .And urs can be different as it depends on the approach to study .
GO FOR BOTH GROUPS AS IT IS EASIER TO CRACK THEM . KEEP UR FOCUS ON ALL SUBJECTS( PEOLPE HAVE TENDENCY TO FOCUS MORE ON PRACTICAL SUBJECT .. DONT DO THAT )
TAKE THIS PERIOD OF 2 MONTHS AS A WAR TIME ....
U KNW ONLY 20 OF HUNDREAD GET THRU
BUT OUT OF 100 FIFTY ARE SUCH STUDENTS WHO DO NOT GO TO CLEAR THE EXAM
LIKE OUT OF THESE 50
10 DO NOT APPEAR FOR THE EXAMS
20 END UP GIVING SINGLE GROUP WHILE THEY HAVE FILLED BOTH GROUPS FORM
10 GO TO SEE HOW THE PAPER COMES WHILE THEY HAVE IN THEIR MIND THAT THEY WILL DO IT SERIOUSLY NEXT TIME
AND REST OF 10 ARE THOSE WHO DONT KNW WHO THEY ARE .. THEY HAVE JUDGMENT PROBLEM . THEY ARE BOASTING PEOPLE. WHO ATTEMPT 50 MARKS QUESTIONS AND TELL ALL THEIR FRIENDS THAT IT IS IMPOSSIBLE TO SECURE LESS THAN 50 FOR THEM.
GOD BLESS THEM
U MUST B ONE OF THE REST 50 WHO ARE GOING TO TAKE EXAMINATIONS TO PASS IT
ALL THE VERY BEST
