Director without share holding

Check the Articles of Association of Company.If it says that director will have to hold Qualification share then they have to no doubt hold shares  .Otherwise there is no compulsion to have a shareholding.

Agree with above reply.  If article provides for the same, otherwise no compulsion. 

And even in case of shareholding condition , qualification shares value should not be more than 5000 or 1 nominal value of shares (whichever is lower)
