Dear Members

Can we use RENT AGREEMENT as a proof of address for DIN application?

Thanks in advance..

As per my opinion, Yes,  DIN-I specifically allowed Item No 8 as 'Others-Please Specify ' so here you can attach the rent agreement as a proff. but the Agreement must be stamped and signed and registered.

I totally support the views of CS Buha, but I doubt whether the rent agreeemnt will be accepted as Proof because in generalty the instruments are unregistered. I prefer its better to go with Rent Receipt indicating the address of the rented premises instead of Rent Agreement.

Thanks

The weightage of Rent agreement is more then rent receipt because the agreement is duly stamped.

According to me rent agreement will not be accepted as the rent agreement may be valid or may be invalid, i.e Suppose you are having a rent agreement on  Jan 2007 and you have changed your house and address go t changed. But there is no proof that you are still in the same address. That is the reason DIN cell is always asking latest address proofs and not accepting rent agreement

This is my view, if anything is wrong kindly rectify

but Dear..jithesh....as per ur opinnion ration card and election card(voterID card) bhi acceptable nahi ahi and na hi......driving licence..because...inn mein se bhi koi latest nahi hoga.....

Dear Swora

Yes you can use House Rent Agreement

In Practile case i have used it and got DIN of my Client.

so dont worry and use it

Then it is great :)

No, Rent agreement is not a proper document for proof of address.

Mr, Ankur,

Y the rent agreement is not a proper document for proff of address?

Dear All Rent Agreement is allowed while filling DIN u can tick on option other in Add. Proof and write Rent Agreement Dear Rent Agreement is a legal document even only in this document u can be sue or be sued to any one or by some one respectively related in the matter. SO why its not allowed for DIN When High Court and even Supreme Court cant denied this document then how can a DIN cell denied it. SO its VALID DOCUMENT Regards

It is legally valid, means it is legally acceptable. Tell me dear, suppose I want to apply for DIN and I am residing since more than 15 years on rented premises. I have not my own house. I have only a rent agreement. I haven't driving licence and not even other proff of resident as required in DIN, In this situation how can I get DIN?

Dear members

In this regard I want to ask should I need to attach original copy of aggrement with DIN application

Thanks

Orginal need not to be send

Rent Ageement can be used. Original document need not be sent. Get a copy attested by the Notary Public and send the same to DIN Cell.

But the rent agreement should be valid as on date of submiting to the DIN Cell.

Hope this resolves.
