Difference 'service tax payable' & 'taxable amount charged'

I want some clarification on the ST3 Excel form for Service Tax return filing downloaded from ACES

(I) Service Tax Payable : what details should be given in this part?

(II) Taxable Amount Charged  : what details should be given in this?

Aren't they one and the same?

Regards

Sandeep

Taxable Amt Charged means the amount u charge in the invoice to the person to whom service has been provided. some times if dont dont charge them in the invoice or dont mention it seperately service tax charged is assumed to be included in the gross amt.

Service Tax payable means the tax u r liable to pay on the service amt received.

The Amt of Taxable Amt Charged and Service tax payable may be different.
