Does the Dhobi also have to pay ST from now? My dhobi cleans for a local clinic and he is paid by cheque all the time. Apparently he was told that he has to collect service tax from April 1.
Is this correct?

If his receipts are more than Rs.10,00,000/- in the year 2011-12 or his receipts for the year 2012-13 has crossed Rs.10,00,000/-, in that case, he'll be laible to collect and pay Service tax.
