Gst registration cancellation

Dear all,

Our client's GST registration has been cancelled a year ago. As he revived his business operations, now he wants to apply for GST registration.

Our query is whether he will be allotted new GSTIN or old GSTIN. If old is allotted, is there any possible way to get new GSTIN on the same PAN.

No chance of old GSTIN, You need to file fresh application on same PAN no. for get GSTIN.

You have to apply for fresh registration....
and u ll get the New GSTN...with 13th letter in GST Number as 2...if this is 2nd GST from PAN
like 12ABCDE1234F' 2 'AB

Only one registration will be sanctioned on one PAN in one vertical of business. If already registered, it will be revocated.

Whether GST registration is cancelled by Department or Client. In case of Cancellation done by Client means whole process are done, Apply for new GSTIN, but in case of Cancellation is done by Depatment then you can revoke the cancellation order with filing application on portal or visiting Respective Gst office

This depends whether registration was cancelled by the taxpayer or by GSTN. If registration was cancelled by taxpayer then he need to apply for new registration however, if it was cancelled by GSTN then it will be revocated.
