87a rebate

Rebate 87A should be taken before tds or not.

E.g Taxable inc 290000

So if we take rebate before tds then no tax liability and therefore no tds.

if we take rebate after tds then tds would be deducted and in itr we will take rebate and claim refund.

Please reply which is right.

Thanks.

First of all TDS is to be included for assessment of income, as it is part and parcel of the income.

In your example if that income inclusive of TDS is say 2.90 lakhs, tax over it will be Rs. 4000/- ( @ 10% for AY 2017-18)

Rebate u/s. 87A maximum deductible in this case is Rs. 4000/-.....

Tax payable Nil

Hence TDS deducted is fully refundable.......

Thanks sir,but I m asking whether rebate u/s 87a should be taken before tds...

If your question is on deduction of TDS u/s 192 i.e salary than rebate u/s 87A should be consider for deduction of TDS

Welcome Mr. Assessee Ji
IF your Total Income is 2.90 lacs than no tax liabilty because rebate of 87a is 4000 and if your tds is deducted by employer then you will be claim TDS as Refund .
For example your total income is 2.90 lace no tax on ,income upto 2.5 lacs, tax it will be Rs. 4000/- ( @ 10% for AY 2017-18)

Rebate u/s. 87A maximum deductible in this case is Rs. 4000/-.....

No Tax liabilty
