Gst on interstate supply for buyer.

-GST is compulsory for interstate supply of goods. In this case seller registers for gst and charges gst.

-GST registration is compulsory for reverse charge.

my question:- Is GST registration compulsory for buyer if he deals( i.e.buys) in interstate supply of goods and is not covered under reverse charge.Buyers turnover does not exceed 20 lacs only is he buys from other state.

Thanks

If your Turnover have not cross threshold limit

Than No Requirement of GST Registeretion

you have to take registration if taxable goods supply is interstate turnover doesn't matter
Buyer does not require even if he is buying from other state. But the seller has to take registration for inter state supply. So he will be getting gst bill.

Thank you all of you.

if turnover is below threshold limit then inter-state purchase does not require registration, inter-state outward supply registarion.

however there may be other conditions requiring registration even if turnover is below threshold limit

for deatils please read article by CA Mithun Khatry at https://gstbible.com/blog/all-about-registration-under-gst-in-india/
