Dear all

i want to know about make correctiom in name in our import export code and future bill of entry. i want to delete word (Inc) from my firm name.

You can delete word (Inc) from the firm name. After making the changes in the firms' name, you can make a correction in your Import Export Code within 90 days from the date of change made in the firms' name. For changing the name of the firm, you will have to fill Aayaat- Niryaat Form 2A. Applying for modification of existing IEC number- fill Part A, C & D of this application form. Documents Required:- 1) Original copy of existing IEC. 2) Only one copy of the application should be submitted. 3) Each individual page of the application has to be signed by the applicant. 4) Application must be accompanied by documents as per details given below: A: Documentary Proof: a) In case of Proprietorship firms, please furnish 1) Date of Birth of individual 2) Number of IECs held along with their details b) In case of Companies, please furnish Date of incorporation c) In case of others Date of formation B: Demand Draft details evidencing payment of application fee in terms of Appendix 21B. (No fee is payable for modification/amendment if such application is made in 60 days. Otherwise, a fee of Rs.200 may be paid in form of demand draft. No fee is required for inclusion of PAN no. in the old IEC.

IEC Code is unique 10 digit code issued by DGFT – Director General of Foreign Trade , Ministry of Commerce, Government of India to Indian Companies.

Full From of IEC Code is “Importer Exporter Code ”. To import or export in India, IEC Code is mandatory. No person or entity shall make any Import or Export without IEC Code Number.

as per para 2.8(iii) foreign trade policy 2009-2014 an exporte / importer who wanted to import / export are exempt from IEC code if they are import / export for personal use / agriculture purpose the goods.
