If it is not showing is 26AS it means ur deducter have not deposited the tax dedcted on ur income with Income Tax Department . In such a case u can't take credit of the same so ur suggested to contact to ur deducter and ask him to deposite the amount of TDS with Department and to file TDS return.

But I have been issued TDS certificates by the deductor. Is it possible to get TDS certificates without depositing the TDS. It seems little fishy. So please suggest.

Yes form 16 can be self generated whether TDS deposited or not. If TDS has been deposited it will show in ur 26AS and then u can claim for Income Tax refund

every deductor who deduct tax must issue form 16a or form 16 from nsdl or tdscpc web site, (After filing tds returns at tin facilitation centers)

deductor must give form 16a or 16 from these websites only,  manual forms issued by deductor represents non filing of tds returns,  is not acceptable.

consult ur deductor first and ask for original form 16a downloaded from website.

Thanks Sadashiv, I have contacted my deductor and he told me that he has deposited the TDS.

Now what should I do further??

Now view ur 26AS and if amount deducted from ur income is showing there then u can file IT return and get refund.
