Hi,

In the last financial year, I earned income under salary (192), interest on FD (194A) and Fee for technical/profession services (194J). Which form shall I use to file my ITR? Do I really need to file the ITR considering the income as below:

Salary - Rs. 63,000 (no TDS)

Interest - Rs. 130,409 (TDS was Rs. 5397)

Fee for professional service - Rs. 33000 (TDS was Rs. 3300)

Can I claim any tax refund?

Thanks.

According to me you should file ITR-4 (i am not sure about it , u must get it confirmed from a CA) And yes you must file a return as ur income is exceeding the basic limit of Rs 190000

If u have any investments u can take exemption upto 100000 u/s 80c . In that case i think u need not file a return

Hi kalpana vijay,

Since your Income Structure consist of salary , other sources(Interst) , and PGBP (Professional income) you need to file ITR - 4.......and again your total income before deduction exceeds the exemption limit so you need to file compulsorily IT return.....

Yes, under sec 139(1),if your total income before giving exemptions under sec 10 (A),10 (B) and deductions under chapter VIA exceeds maximum amount not chargeble to tax, then u need to file income tax return .

As per recent amendment if total income ie; salary income & interest on SB excds 5 lacs then only its mandatory to file IT return.........

as per this amendment u dont hav to file ITR but i will suggest u to file Return to claim Refund of income tax....

one of the company is not paying any interest on late submission of tds quartely return..

can anyone tell me the reason
