E-diary ghost:Do u think ICAI has propr Infra in place?

I want to ask all members and students some burning questions:

a)What’s ur view on tacky, unreliable IT technology? Every results of icai especially PCC/IPCC is delayed for 3-5 days.Now-a-days, the website hardly opens in quick time.Even downloading a document of 200kb gives a speed of 1kbps.That also at the time of broadband and 3G.What a shame?

b)Will the so called phased implementation be applicable for old students ? At the time when they are on the verge of completion of the tiresome articleship; is this the right thing to put a burden on them? Another problem for them is that this is an entirely new platform for all students, and with history of icai’s dubious history of IT ;(, the students as well as the members will be wary of that.

c)What about the technical issues regarding the rules and regulations? A student might have taken transfer and obviously spoilt his/her relationship with prior CA.How will he have the e-diary signed?

d)What will be the mode for authentication of the online e-diary? Will the student need to secure a Digital signature or ask his CA to authenticate it with his DS?

e)Does ICAI have enough staff to scrutinize all the returns? They don’t have enough staff to check the exam form in time, process our application for registration, form 112,form 108 etc in time? Our forms takes ages to get processed. THEN WHY OVERBURDEN THE PRESENT STAFF WITH ADDITIONAL WORKS BEFORE IMPROVING THE BASIC WORKINGS.

h) I have begun noticing many complaints related to esahayata in CCI till late.People can't find verification links in their emails.

i)The system of holidays isn’t the same all over the nation.Even in same city; some get 7 days holiday in Diwali or a day off during Holi or Republic day;whereas his friend in another firm in same city doesn’t get holiday on the same day.

j)Suppose CA XYZ exploits his students making him do work of peons also like serving water to guests/client,do u think the CA will accept that in the online e-diary. Will he accept how many extra hours he has forced the article to work or less holidays he has given to the unfortunate human?Has ICAI installed biometric cards at all CA firms in India that will accurately and unbiasedly record the arrival time and departure time of office ?

This could be just his grand plans. But I feel before any new stuff is introduced,he should consult the students as well.We don’t have an organized Student’s Association. The present one consists of CAs ;then how will our concerns be addressed?

My suggestions and viewpoint for this:

a)First of all, make this stuff applicable for students who register their Form 102/103 since 2009 or 2010 not for those who are in their final years of articleship.

b)Basic amenities of the ICAI website should be fast and reliable: like Knowledge portal,ICAI in News, etc.

c)We all know ICAI PARIVARTAN project has just begun and it will take 16 months to be completed.ICAI has chosen vendors for the same.(notified in icai in websites few months ago).

d)Till ICAI parivartan isn’t completed, implemented and fully given thumbs up by the members for their work;plz don’t make the HALF BAKED UNRELIABLE SYSTEM an additional source of worry for an unready burdened students.

e)Sir, you should concentrate on implementing Live video lectures in ICAI centres;making e-sahayata foolproof for students.

f)Before implementing this scheme,FIRST HAVE in-time results of pcc/ipcc/final for 2 times(this may and November 2011 without a single-day of delay. That will assuage the nerves of lacs of students who undergo articleship.

WHEN IT COMES TO DOUBLING STIPEND AND REDUCING ARTICLESHIP OF PCC STREAM STUDENTS TO 3 YEARS;ICAI PUTS THE ONUS ON PARLIAMENT THAT THE PROPOSAL IS WITH CENTRAL GOVERNMENT.WHILE BANNING TRANSFER, ICAI IS ABOVE CG,it seems.

LET’S SEE WHAT HAPPENS IN CASE OF E-DIARY?

Friends,co-students as well as learned Members, plz echo your opinions, suggestions and apprehensions.
