Quick Summary
This discussion clarifies the process for claiming a refund when Tax Deducted at Source (TDS) under Section 194J has been applied. While initially debated, the consensus is that filing an Income Tax Return (ITR) is necessary to claim such refunds. Depending on the nature of your income, you may need to file ITR-3, ITR-4 (if opting for presumptive taxation), or ITR-1 to declare the TDS and claim the refund.
