please help me to calculate depreciation rate of any asset as per companies act

In WDV method
Depreciation rate = 1-(Residual Value/Cost of Asset)^(1/n)
In SLM method
Deprecuation rate = 100/ useful life
Depreciation rate = 1-(Residual Value/Cost of Asset)^(1/n)
In SLM method
Deprecuation rate = 100/ useful life
please clarify wdv method
asset-rate of dep=written down value
N = Useful life in years.
Residual Value= Scrap value at the end of useful life.
Residual Value= Scrap value at the end of useful life.
