Depreciation in case of death

295 views 1 replies

How is depreciation allowed in the case of death of sole proprietor? I have read everywhere that depreciation, in such a case is apportioned in the ratio of number of days to predecessor and successor but fifth proviso to section 32(1) allows depreciation to predecessor and successor in case of succession of business in the ratio of number of days otherwise than on death, not in the case of death.

Thanks.
