Scoring Good mark require a good and thorough understanding of concepts behind legality....Five head of income is "Back bone chapters as far as Income tax is concerned. Apart from 5 head, Chapter VIA deduction, Assessment procedure, TDS etc also important chapters. Calculation of Total income problem require some problem solving skills...
Aprt from this, good idea about VAT and service tax is required...
Thorough study of all the heads from a good text book..plus relevant provisons for clubbing, etc etc..
There is no hard and fast rules for remembering tax..only formula is reading again and again..
You should have an idea how queations are asked in exams..for this through past attempts' suggested answers..
Study and DRINK Servive Tax and VAT
