Demand u/S 143(1) AY-2020-21

Filed return on 22/08/2020,in time. Demand came on 8 April 2021. Total income 13.431 Lakhs, & they agree. Tax Liability 185765 & they agree. Interest 1577/-&they agree. Prepaid tax 187400 & they agree. Yet they say tax payable 28500/-. Why so? I don't find any reason & the notice also does not indicate. Immovable property was sold. Purchaser deducted 1%.& they deposited 28000/-on July 31, 2020.Form 26 AS confirms this. I have no hesitation to, but, they must tell me what for it is? So that I may be careful in future. Can you throw some light on this issue please?

Quick Summary
This discussion explores a discrepancy in a Section 143(1) income tax demand for AY 2020-21. Despite the tax department agreeing with the taxpayer's declared income, tax liability, and prepaid taxes, a demand of £28,500 was issued. The taxpayer suspects it relates to TDS deducted on the sale of immovable property but seeks clarification on the exact reason for the demand. Advice is given to carefully compare the columns in the intimation notice to identify the specific point of disagreement.

Then disagree the tax demanded by department.
There are two columns
annexed with the notice.
one has agreed by the department and as calculated by the assesse.
compare that and then try to find the discrepancy.
Agree with both

Have you carefully compared and checked both the columns in intimation u/s 143(1) of about 11 page.

If yew you will find the reason.
