09 November 2011Today (09/11/11) I have received an Intimation u/s 143(1) dt. 27/08/2011 raising the demand of Rs. 2000. But I had already filed a Revised Return u/s 139(5) on 12/9/2011 with NIL Tax Liabilty. Do I still need to pay the Demand raised??? What should be the best way to be on safer side?

File a Rectification application u/s. 154 pointing out the irregularity in the order / intimation vis a vis your computation of total income. (Assuming there is no prima facie error in your tax computation filed alongwith the return)
If you have E-filed your Return of income, then file the Rectification application online from the income tax India E-filing website

File rectification request online and select option SEEKING IN ITR PROCESSING. U have ti upload your xml file with this rectification.
