Defective return u/s 139 (9)

Others 512 views 1 replies

My Client has received a notice u/s 139 (9) of the Income tax act 1961, mentioning that the return filed is defective, since no details in Profit and Loss and Balance Sheet have been submitted. The return was a loss return. Can i do away with the loss and file a return showing nominal profit?? (where in my client wont have to submit the profit and loss and balance sheet details)

There may be some clerical mistake you would have shown profit / loss under computaion without filling P&L and Balance Sheet so you need to complete the BS and PL and revise the return.

any further query you may contact on my e mail : abhashmishraca @ gmail.com or by sending PM
