Deep sorrow

Hello all my CCites.

Today i got my Ca-Final results. This was my 3rd Attempt.I failed miserably in both groups. The total score in both groups comes to just 140.

Right now i am in a great dilemma as what to do next.Shall i concentrate on fixing a job for me (in a ca firm or any other firm) nexwith simultaneous studies for a single group to be given in May-14 or leave ca fully n join a job based on my current qualification i.e. B.com and CA-Inter.I am also pursuing PGDBA(Fin) from SCDL(Symbiosis centre for distt learning) and it would get completed in July-14.

I believe there are many experts here to advise me on this condition of mine. Please help me at the earliest.

Hey Prashant,

Make CA as your complete focus without divulging your mind anywhere.

Make introspection where you have defaulted. Re-check your strategy, your notes, the content and material you have referred. And above of all, avoid negativity in any form. the way you have posted with thumbs down sign and choice of words do reflect your frustration. please wipe it off altogether.

Happy to help you,

I would advice you to focus groupwise & also on your PGDBM (Fin).

Simultaneously join a CA firm ,if you want to go in firms after CA or in a company if you want to be in corporates.

In order to add more weightage to your degree, try to do some certifications in SAP fico, stock market,ms excel etc.

Easier said than done, but it would be better if you start your preparations & job as soon as possible as past can never be changed. So,repenting for it will not bring any fruitful result rather it would be time & energy consuming. So,just make strong analysis of your past results and move forward as soon as possible.

All the best.

Never Give Up.... After Every Night there is a Morning, so After Every Sorrow their will be a Happiness.......

Very aptly said by CA Vijeta Verma. I n my 9th attempt i did my SAP certification and changed my carrier. Afterwards when i cleared my CA, i had two qualifications in hand. So side by side start doing something else. Honetly speaking, distance learnin MBA has no value in market. Also, experience gained in a CA firm is of very less value if you want to do a job in any corporte. So the combination of Degree and experience is a must. But, as of now, i would suggest you to completely concentrate on your CA for May attempt. If you clear even one grp, it will be a great moral booster for you.

All the best.

Thank you all who have replied yet...your words were inspiring.

but please would u clarify your stand on whether i shud join the job in a ca firm or not...as i am in lucknow i can get a middle sized firm and also i did not get much exposure to direct/indirect tax fields thus i think it would be better for me to join a ca firm only as it would be helpful in long term.

See,what I would say is firstly decide your core area of interest. No matter even if uptill now you have not got much experience in that.Start from now.But start atleast. If you go in a field where there is not much interest then it will not give much benifit in long run.

Next thing is whether you should join job/firm now or not.See,if you don't have much experience in your core area of interest in which you want to make your career, then this time may be utilised as an opportunity to sharpen your skills.

If you are comfortable with your articleship exposure & can prepare well for may14 attempt to clear both groups ,then do not do anything then focussing on exams.

But if you think you need additional expsoure & that both groups are creating high pressure for you then just go step by step.

All the best

Thanks Vijeta mam...i think i have got an idea that i want to excel in the field of taxes whether direct/indirect.

The other thing being exposure is what i lack in...and i need to not only sharpen my skills bt start shaping them from scratch so i think as per your reply i should join a ca-firm wth a focus on tax.

Great to know you got your direction.Go ahead .

All the best

And yes let the past be past & just a learning experience.Every failure teaches us something good in long run

Tanks vijeta mam...your replies were of great help!!
