You might have some recourse with you. Pls let me know if company was adding value in perks for flat provided.
if the flat remains vacant on account of the assessee being employed in some other place then the annual value is considered to be nil
if flat not provided by employer than HRA will be given but in my case I have been alloted flat by employer so no payment of HRA to me .....municipal areas of flat owned by me and flat provided by employer are different....

Dear Mr Raghunath, if you are not claiming HRA, then there is no conflict. You can show one house as self occupied as Nil income. In other case, if you were claiming HRA, the different municipal areas are not enough. You have to convince AO that the workplace was far enough for you to live in a different place. But all that comes into picture if you were claiming HRA.

no I m not claiming any HRA
when flat provided by owner than HRA not eligible for any
The reason I had asked for the mention in perks was, if employer is mentioning the value of house given to you in perks then your case will be airtight. But I don't see any issue on this.
no it is not included in perks coz employer provided me accommodation
HRA being paid to them who not provided accommodation .....who provided with accommodation no HRA being paid by employer ..
pl reply I m waiting n he to file itr...1

Dear Prabhakar Sir, in my opinion you can your flat as self-occupied with NIL income. The reason is an assessee is allowed to declare one flat as self occupied. And in your case you are not even claiming HRA, so there should be no problem. However just to get another opinion, please repost your question again on the forum.
