The handover agreement with the builder is executed in FY 2015-16. The sale deed execution date for purchase the flat is in FY 2017-18.
For indexation purpose which date should be considered? Is it handover date or sale deed date? Please advice.

Since you are the purchaser, the cost of acquisition will be indexed as and when you have made the payments.e.g. If you have made part payments in FY 2015-16...index that amount from 2015-16...if made some payment in 2016-17...index that portion from 2016-17 and so on.
