Cvd credit

Hello,

We are procuring some laptops. Our supplier is importing and store at his warehouse. In the process can we get the CVD credit on imported laptops procured from suppliers warehouse?

We are the OEMs.

Thank in advance.

If the laptops are being stored in a Customs Bonded Warehouse and sold to you by way of high-seas sale, you can avail the Cenvat Credit of CVD paid by you on clearing the goods from the warehouse.

If not, and the said warehouse is a private warehouse which is owned or rented by your supplier, then your supplier must be registered as an Excise Registered Importer under Central Excise (warehouse location must be registered) and must issue Cenvatable invoices for you
to you take Credit of CVD.

Hope the above clarifies.

Hello,
