Can anyone tell me whether sale tax or vat is applicable in case of samples sales on FOC basis under both cases manufactured or traded goods.

SAMPLE DISTRIBUTED ON FOC BASIS IS NOT SALES, IT IS AN PROMOTIONAL EXPENSE SO THE QUESTION OF LEVYING VAT OR CST DOESN'T ARISE.
