CST CALARIFICATION

CST registration is must for Inter State sales. For interstate piurchases, it is also required to enable some one to purchase goods at concessional rate of taxes.

In case a person wants to limit its business within the State of TamilNadu than he is not supposed to apply for CST Number, but if wants to deal (sale or purchsae or otherwise) in goods also outside state of Tamilnadu than yes he has to apply for CST registration along with Local VAT.

For longterms business sense it is prodent to have the CST registration loang-with VAT, your friend will be free to purchase or sell or other dela in the goods outside the state.

I am making invoice from Mumbai, material supply to Mundra Port which is setuiated at SEZ area, will CST is applicable to that supply?

cst number is compulsory for interstate sale.if your sales are local base then CST is not compulsory.but if you want  to purchase outside the state and issue c form for that,then you must have to take CST no.
