no till now there is no such news
ICAI has not come out with any announcement. Also remember that CPT substituted PE I and has if at all they take any step they will have to replace it. There are students in Class X and Class XI who have taken admissions and will have exams in May 2008 and May 09. I hope ICAI will clarify.

it wil become the best decision taken by ICAI in recent times. evry tom d**k n harry is clearing CPT. n top scores r above 95%!!!!!!!!! n pass % is 65+. CPT is created to damage the quality of a CA. high % objective quest in PCC n final should also be removed.
BEFORE DISCONTINUING CPT A TRANITION PERIOD OF MINIMUM 2 YEARS WILL BE REQD. PLEASE NOTE THAT FOR CPT ADDMISSIONS ARE GIVEN FOR SSC PASS STUNDENTS WHOSE EXAMS WILL DE DUE IN MAY-2009 OR EVEN THERAFTER. HOPE ICAI SHALL CLARIFY ON THE ISSUS TO REMOVE OUT THE RUMOR.
