Cpt scrapped?

This is just a rumour I heard when I went to the ICAI branch for registering for IPCC.  One of them members was telling that they may go back to the old procedure that is finishing an undergraduate degree as a prerequisite qualification for registering for IPCC. I am not sure whether this will be enforced seeing that students who passed out of 12th class will have to do their degrees in order to register for CA. Will CPT really be scrapped?

If you are a graduate then you may skip CPT. If you want to register IPCC after +2 then you must go through CPT.

CPT is not going to be scrapped. It is only exempted for graduation completed students who can then enter articleship along with IPCC. But this matter is pending for government approval. CPT scrapping in total is purely a rumour. That never happens.

Agreed with Krishna....

m sy bcom student  can i register IPCC

Sana you can't register in IPCC because the approval is still pending from Central Government end...

@ Sana

Final year graduation students are allowed for provisional registration for IPCC course. But they can appear in IPCC exams only after appearing in final year graduation exams and also you need to complete 9-months prescribed study period time for IPCC, so that you are eligible to write IPCC exams. However, this matter is still pending with Government approval. You may need to wait.

i heard these new ipcc registered guys can also start there articleship is it true?

@ Mithun

There is no such provision that newly IPCC registered students can directly do articles. As per prevailing rules, one MUST complete 1st grp/both groups of IPCC in order to enter articleship.

this system is not yet approved by central government

The exemption for grads is just one part of it. What I heard from that ICAI branch employee is that the gateway for CA might end up being closed for the 12th passed students. Meaning first graduate from B.com or other related degree-> IPCC-> final->CA

No more CPT.

wen can we except the amendment............and also wen can we write my inter xam.......

No CPT is't scrapped. There r 2 situations:

1) If u r 12th pass then u can direct enter into CPT in order to pursue CA course and

2) If u r a Graduate then  u can escape CPT subject to the fullfillment of two conditions:

    i) If u r a commerce graduate then u need to have atleast 55% marks in ur graduation OR

ii) If u r a Science or ART graduate then u need to have atleast 60% marks at ur graduation level.

All others are necessarily required to go through CPT.

but my friends why cpt scraped

as per ICAI Notification pending for approval

IPCC entry qualification are

1. Graduation with commerce with 55%

or

2. Graduation with non commerce with 60%
