so pls mention nikhil what should be done if we get notice 143 (1) for nil return also..?
It means that you return is processed as CPC with NIL Demand
not to worry it is jus confirmation that your return is successfully processed.
I think chirag has answered it.
Just check your CPC order buddy, it'll be showing NIL demand.
Check your email. Take the print out of the intimation u/s 143(1) and put it in your income tax file for your records.
Because sec.143(1) not assessment it just intimation.
So no need to worry. Please read intimation full..in intimation tax liability should be nil if not then u can apply rectification u/s 154.
It is just a comparision of computation done by us and by the I Tax dept.In case of any difference in calculation of interest or mismatch in computation u can file a rectification request for claiming the credit of TDS or any other tax, but if any demand is geniune then we are supposed to pay it of under minor head 400 i.e tax on regular assessment
