if profit is 25 percent on cost means 20 on selling price how ? Please explain by steps

Hi Gayathri,

Let me explain this example.  Let 100 be the cost price and 25% profit is added to get Selling price of 125.  So 100 + 25 = 125 right?

So now you just consider the profit 25 and Selling price of 125.  What would be the percentage? 25/125 right?  So that's what 20%.  Make sense?
