Counting House is a British term used before the 20th Century. It relates to any place( as in room, hall, center etc) where any accounting work is done. Therefore in Cost Accounting one can say that it will come under Office & Adminstration expenses.

Drawing office salary is given to the Engineers who make the design for the product. hence it is cosidered as Factory Cost.

Question

I am working in a Garment trading company who import fabric from china and sale in in India. So my question is, can we treat Godown expenses as Factory while we are not manufacturing anything.
