Correction in PAN Database

by filing form 49A for revision of address

Please help me out to update the address in th PAN Database, where the assesee has filed ITR & refund cheque returned with a reason of "address is not correct or address got changed" . i got the letter from CPC that there is some procedure is given in the web site : www.tin-nsdl.com. But i could not locate any such procedure can u help me out,

you have to apply for correction / revision in PAN, tick the address, fill correct address and attach all documents relating to new address and photo identiry, send to NSDL centre with requisite fees, u will get new pan address where the correct address (NEW) would get recorded in incometax/ndsl.

sir,over the matter of change in pan adress database,can we do change it online.if yes then pls tell me url.

no you can not change it, you can apply only to change it, change will be done by ndsl after getting documents at their hand.

it means i have to suplly them soft copy of adress proof  or need to submit it in IT office pls reply

Thank You for giving valuable information about PAN database updation, its nothing but correction of PAN, where we use to file Form-49A now it become online, actualy i'm looking for way to update directly in web: because yesturday also @ interactive session with CPC afficial they said we can update our PAN details like: address,email-id & Phone no..., in tin-nsdl site. But, i am not able locate in the site, 

One easy way to update data is Income Tax Return, while filing IT return we can enter actual address, email & mobile number ...., because department will communicate with assessee based on data available in ITR. it considered as currect contact details.
