NO. Without COP, A CA cannot act as a partner in a CA Firm. He must hold COP for practising as a CA either individuallly or in partnership.

no he cant be a partner in a firm . he needs to hold COP under the regulations of chartered accountants act 1949. only then he is eligible to become a partner...

Chartered accountant can be associated with a CA firm in 2 ways -1st Paid assistant and 2nd as a partner.

Paid assistant means simply a person is in employment but when taking into consideration the provision of CA regulations only practising CA can be partner. So COP isreqd.

Dear Prateek, in a CA firm , no person other than CA can be a partner. So a CA Inter Person who is not a qualified member and is not eligible to practice a s a CA,  Can't enter into partnership in a CA firm.
