Hi,i just passed CPT ,December 2010 with 160 marks n now looking to do IPCC.but  m confused about certain thngs.now these questions may seem childish which every CA aspirant should know, but I dont,so please bare with me n answer these.

1.I am planning to do group-1 first, will my exam still be held in Nov n I'll get 9 months?.how much time will I get to prepare for 2nd group then?

2.)I somehow passed CPT with distinction.is there any exemptions I can avail(one of my friends told me;))or is it just for pride

3)in the ICAI website,I read that u need 15 months articled training along with clearing CPT to join IPCC,is that true?isnt article trainiing after IPCC

4)in the IPCC registration form, options r given to select study material, will I have to avail only group-1 first n re-register for group-II?or can I hv study material for both all at once?also what  are the 'articles' in option for both groups?

5)I am a handicapped student.so how am I supposed to go for IT training n Orientation course?

6)is there any difference between PCC n IPCC?I thought both r same n IPCC is the  latest scheme?but  I maybe wrong

thx in advance

Hi,

Congrats for such a nice score...... i can answer only a few questions.....

1)If you want you can appear for only one group at a time . Even if u appear for only 1st group, your exam will still be held in Nov i.e., after 9 months of registration for IPCC. You can appear for 2nd group in May 2012.

2)you dont get any exemption for getting distinction in CPT .

3)Under IPCC aticleship starts only after you pass your 1st group.

Hi Saurav

First of all congrats on your clearing the CPT exam. Below are the answers for your queries as per my view:

1) As you have passed CPT in December 2010, there is a notification in the ICAI website for the CPT passed students to register for IPCC before January 2011. You should need 9months study gap in order to write your IPCC exam in November 2011. So I advise you dont delay now anymore and immediately take the application form for IPCC and fill it up and send it to the required address mentioned in the application depending on your South/North/East/West regions.

2) Regarding the exemptions, I didn't heard any exemptions for CPT passed students in further exams. Can you clearly specify what exemptions your friend has told?

3) To join IPCC, no 15 months training is needed. You may have seen some old information. To join in IPCC, you should be CPT passed student. Articleship of 3 years in CA will start after you clears the IPCC First Group. You may also choose to write both groups of IPCC at a time. But First Group should be cleared first, which makes you eligible to join for articles, which will then goes on for 3 years.

4) In my application, I have filled for both study material and I also chosen Both Groups with Articles option. So fees should be paid accordingly for Both Groups with Articles. If you wish to register for only Group-I, you can do so. But regitering for both groups and preparing and giving for both groups at a time is advisable as you have time to study. If you feel you cannot be able to complete both group subjects in this 9-months period, you can write only First Group Exam. However, while filling up application, you pay the fees for both groups and take the study material at a time, later on its your wish whether to write both at a time or single each. You have the choice of selection even you paid fees for both groups. In my view both groups with articles fees is around 12,000/-. So you check before you take the DD after considering your exemptions of fees.

5) However, in your case, as you are handicapped, there will be fee exemption in case of Orientation Programme of (Rs.4,000). The exemption notification to handicapped students given by ICAI is given in this link (https://220.227.161.86/20166announ10965.pdf). You can go through it for your reference. So, in your case you are exempted from payment of orientation program fees and also for attending the orientation is exempted.

Regarding the ITT Program as per ICAI notification ITT is to be completed before registering for articleship. However, it is advisable to do ITT in your 9-month period.

6) There are some differences between PCC and IPCC. However, registrations to PCC is not allowed now, so you must register for IPCC and concentrate on IPCC syllabus itself.  IPCC is the latest scheme as of now.

Hope above answers will suffice your queries. By the time you receive your IPCC study materials, you can download the soft copies of the study materials of ICAI from this link (https://icai.org/new_category.html?c_id=314). All the best.

Hi krishna,'

What is the meaning of BOTh Group with article and BOTH group without article.

If any body fill BOTh group without article and clear ist Group wheter he can start articleship.

Dear Sir,

Both groups with articles - Means we are choosing to pay the fees for both groups along with articleship training fees.

Both groups without articles - Means we are choosing to pay the fees only for both groups without articleship training fees. By choosing this option, we need to pay the articleship fees separately to ICAI either after completing the IPCC First Group or Both Groups, as the case may be.

Hope this will suffice.

thanks friends a lot for ur answers.

Krishna,I dont have full 9 months to study.I am currently doing MCOM along with CA course n now preparing for MCOM exams in April, will only start preparing for IPCC after that.thats why I want to write group-1 only first.as you advised I'll register for both groups with articles n  have the study material all at once.I just wanted to be clear if I wont fail if i dont appear for Group-II papers.anyway fees for subject material for groups seperately is 8000 + 5000,but for both groups its 11000,so might as well save some money, hehe.

good that I am exempted from Orientation course.in this link,it says that I am exempted from ITT classes too n will have to give two written tests only.I wonder if I have to fill the ITT form then.theres no section regarding disabilty in that form.

the distinction thing may be wrong.he was guessing too.I knew theres nothing for non-merit holders

thanks again

plzz give me a exact answer...wen we r supposed 2 do itt training..???i know we have 2 do it before articleship..bt can we do it after giving exam in may of ipcc.....????n also i want 2 know dat how much time we have in between ipcc exam n registration for articleship...????plzz help...

You have an option to complete your ITT after passing IPCC but should be completed before declaring results

As soon as results are declared u can immediately register for articles i hope there is no time limit but as much as u delay in ur articles registration so much will be ur final attempt delayed..

what r the amendments for nov 11 ipcc exams??pls reply!!!

thanks alot sirisha...:)

pls somebody pls reply!!!!!!!!!

Dear friends,

belated happy dussera. i have completed my graduation with 82 percentage i have regestiered with icai for ipcc on 26-1-2010 i have not attempted till now for  my exams now i want to join articles withput passing the group1 whether iam eligible for the articles r not plsease send the solution for my query

@ Vinay

As per existing ICAI rules, one MUST pass IPCC first group to enter into articleship. No exemptions for any graduations/other higher studies.

I want to appear in CPT need some information on IPCC if I pass or qualify for CPT as well as IPCC Group II rather then Group I whether I eligible for the articleship or not
