Confuse?Whether to register for CPT or not?

Well I still havent registered for CPT and now this news that other field people to can register for CA directly without CPT.

I am an enginering graduate who is in business right now.

I cleared my finals with more than 60% in engineering .So i am confused whether is hould register for CPT or wait and directly go for CA curriculum when the rule comes(its obvious it wont come before CPT else many will choose the wait route).

What do you guys suggest.

Though i just went through the study material on icai site and past question papers here.

I feel in 30 days i can be ready for cpt as being from enginering background i can easily go through maths(derivative,integrations).Only problem for me will be mercantile law and basic accounts and eco terms as i am being from science background.

WHat do you guys suggest should i wait and start directly studies for ipcc or go for cpt.

It is not yet official and is awaiting government's so called approval, as per here:

Your choice, you can wait or go for CPT. The knowledge earned during CPT preparation will help you, if you are really interested in this field.

With your non-commerce background I suggest you to go for CPT as it will clear your fundamentals which will be very necessary to be able to understand IPCC subjects.

I also agree with SiDD, don't wait for Direct admission scheme, you should opt for CPT, it will help you to understand fundamentals.

You can easily manage Mercantile Law and Economics, these are just theoretical subjects, you will not get any difficulties. By little effort you can easily manage these subjects, ofcourse you may face some problem in Fundamental of A/c, but this too is not much hard. Just understand the concept, these are only basics, you can easily manage it by little effort. BEST OF LUCK

im persuing MBA(FINANCE) now...should i wait for the approval of ipcc?? or should i join cpt??

Through CPT you will have to wait 1 yr for articleship and according to direct entry scheme you can direct enter in articleship, but you can’t say, how long will it take to get approved. May be it take 6 months or more or 1yr. you can’t say. I think you should go for CPT.
