Configuring Outlook express

Only Gmail have such types of free facility ,
Incoming Mail Server - pop.gmail.com,
Outgoing MAil Server - smtp.gmail.com

See in order to configure outlook express to web based email clients, The Web based service provider should support POP3. In case of yahoo, free version doesnot support POP3 similar is the case with sify and rediff. How ever hotmail is supported(through new msn live mail) so is gmail. So if you want to configure your outlook either u have to upgrade to a paid version or use gmail or hotmail. The details on how to configure your outlook is given in gmail help pages.

Yahoo is also providing free service of pop3  atleast to me yes they are providing and i am using yahoo pop3 services since 2002.may be now  the service has been stopped for new ids .I was not using this service   after new yahoo version and after reading above replies I first thought that the service may have been stopped by yahoo for me also  then I tried the service again and it is working today also (24/03/2008).if your mail domain is yahoo.co.in then u may try following settings

 

Incoming server setting is=pop.mail.yahoo.co.in

outgoing =smtp.mail.yahoo.co.in

in more setting tab/button/advanced settings as under

incoming server =110

outgoing server=587

do not click ssl in above case

 

or you can try this

Incoming Mail Server (POP3):	pop.mail.yahoo.co.in Use SSL, port: 995
Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP):	smtp.mail.yahoo.co.in Use SSL, port: 465, use authentication

one more point

if you want to check whether your mail has such facility or not go to

option given at the left upperside in new yahoo mail  and same in old mail

go for

option>mail

then see there is

POP Access and Forwarding

if yes click it do the need ful in next screen and avail free pop3 facility.

if no such heading then your mail has no pop3 facility

Hey, This is very good info abt pop-up servers..Was aware of gmail bt not yet came to know yahoo..thanx a lot.
