I am running a business, activity is trading of coal. I want to inquire whether the company can be registered in MSME or SSI. Company has no manufacturing units whatsoever.

Enterprises which can be registered under MSMED Act 2006 are:
a) Enterprises engaged in manufacturing/production of goods in any scheduled industry; or
b) Enterprises engaged in rendering of any service.
Since trading activity is not covered, in my view you will not be able to be registered under the Act.
