should we required surrender the Excise Registration after closing the company or only intimation is sufficient.

1) surrender the registration.
2) file returns uptodate and clear the dues,
3) any amount remaining in PLA can be claimed as refund, while the cenvat credit balance will lapse
4) R/O will examine and if needed he will ask the internal audit to visit and clear the facts.
5) R/O will intimate about cancellation of your R/C
