Change of Name in Form 26AS

Hello,

We (LLP) have changed the name in PAN , but in Form 26AS it is showing the Old name

We have TAN no with old name with Old address (Pune Juris.)  and now changed to new address ( Mumbai Juris.)

So we applied for New TAN No. ( but we need not have any returns to file TDS returns) without surrendering old TAN.

Client is objecting that old name showing in PAN Verification in Traces.

Please guide me in this for change of name in Form 26AS.  ??

Quick Summary
This discussion addresses an LLP's concern about Form 26AS displaying their old name even after a name change on their PAN. While Form 26AS is populated from the TAN database and cannot be directly altered, the consensus is that the name displayed is less critical than the correct PAN and TAN numbers. The advice suggests focusing on the accuracy of the numbers for validation purposes and exploring options to update the name on the old TAN for administrative ease, if possible.

I may be wrong but I don't think there's any way of changing information directly in the 26AS. It's populated from the TAN database.

However, it doesn't make any difference. The PAN and TAN matter, not the name. Any validation is done against the number.

For what it's worth, my sister changed her name in the PAN / TAN 6 years ago when she got married. But it still shows up under her maiden name sometimes. Doesn't make any difference to anyone.

You can not change the information displayed in Form 26AS.

If the correct TAN is reflected in the Form 26AS of the deductee with the required TDS amount then he can ignore the name reflected there.

For administrative ease, try to change the name in old TAN. Possibly don't change the address in old TAN. I am not sure if this is possible but see if this can be done through.
Does it obstructs running your business or submitting itr. else log into traces.
