Change of address of registered company

Dear Experts,

I have following two queries

1. Is it mandatory to inform about change of office address to MCA? If yes what is the time period to inform about registered office address change.

2. How to know if a company has been closed (from MCA site).

I am searching for a company,whose website is not working now,landline.mobile not working.I have dealt with the company earlier.I went to old office address,i found a other company and they told that the previous company has shifted but they dont know the address.Please guide

to your First Question,

Yes you have to inform the MCA for change in the registered office of the company only if it is also resulting in the new registered office being under the jurisdiction of a new registrar, you have to pass a special resolution and obtain the approval of the same, the MCA will direct the register within whose jurisdiction the proposed new office is going to be situated to register the same.
