While ITNS 280 is still used for legacy tax years (under the 1961 Act), you must now access it via the Income Tax e-Filing Portal to generate a Challan Reference Number (CRN). For new tax obligations (under the 2025 Act), you will use the updated ITNS 280N form, also generated through the same portal.
