Certified Internal Auditor

Dear Frnds,

I am a qualified chartered accountant. I am working in an audit firm where i am paid as an consultant and not as an employee.

I am planning to do CIA course.

One of the conditions in CIA is two yrs experience in Internal Audit.

So i just wanted to know whether i can show working in my firm as an experience or not, because i am paid as an consultant.

Kindly suggest.

As far as i know what matters is the cerificate given by the "employer'...

i guess IIA has not kept any restrictions for "consultants"....If you have two yrs experience in Internal audit and your employer certifies the same, i guess there wont be much problems...that will be enough to get exemption from paper iv

I suggest u may contact IIA Florida directly...they will get back to you in short span of time.

Regards..
