Case of a Non-resident

ITR 580 views 3 replies

What exchange rate must a non.resident take in order to convert the salary that he receives into Indian Rs. For filing his return in India??

Further where should this amount be put in ITR 1 as it is exempted since it is deemed to accrued/arise outside India??? But still the person wants to file the return as he needs housing loan which he wants to show it to the bank.

NRI, receiving salary out of india does not need to file ITR in india unless his income in india is subject to tax.

for housing loan at return his NRI status would remain valid and bank will not insist for return copy, but he has to preserve the tax documents of overseas for related years.

what if that person has not filed return in any other country??? And still wants the bank loan

ask the bank about it,

if the person does not have taxable income, how he can be considered for a loan?
