Quick Summary
This discussion explores the possibility of carrying forward a short-term capital loss of £10,000 to the next financial year. The user wishes to avoid setting it off against a long-term capital gain below £1 lakh in the current year. However, the consensus is that short-term losses must be set off against long-term gains in the same financial year, and there's no straightforward way to defer this adjustment to future years.

Not possible, it will automatically adjust against LTCG of same financial year.

Since my long term capital gain is not taxable as it below 1 lakh is it possible that i dnt show long term capital this financial yr so that my short term loss can be adjusted with next yrs short term profits

Very strange, how can you prolong LTCG for next year? What about AIS reporting LT & ST capital gains this year?

Thank u  for giving the clarity . So it means we have no other option .

Sorry. Had there been any, I would have loved to announce it.
