Career in Indirect taxes

Dear Sir/ Mam

 I am a CA final student who has cleared Ist group and awaiting for Group 2 results which would be declared in Jul'11. I have an interest in Indirect taxes. I need some advise as to how to go forward with regard to a career in IDT. Whether I should join a CA firm specialising in IDT or join corporate? Is there an option to join the CBEC?

Also I would also like to know whether is it a good choice to have a career in IDT?
